MCC Family,
Thanks to the many who attended our congregational meeting Wednesday. It was a wonderful time of fellowship thanks to John Cowell's fabulous dinner! We also had a special time of prayer and worship led by Susan Carson and Curtis Snook. The financial update showed that giving was 18% ahead of last year through April, and $75,000 ahead of expenses, which are 7% ahead of last year.

The congregation affirmed additional three year Elder terms for Harry Badanes, John Cofskey and Kevin Robinson, and also affirmed the proposed deacon slate. The amended constitution was unanimously approved. Please pick up your ministry reports package Sunday to get all the details!

I hope you will all have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. This is an important time for us as a spiritual community for many reasons. Sunday is Pentecost, the time when God poured out his Holy Spirit on the young church - and a time when we will seek a fresh anointing of the Spirit for MCC. It is also the global day of prayer, when we will join in with hundreds of millions of believers around the world to ask God for his mercy and for His love to transform us and the world around us. Plan to stay after service for 45 minutes as we go up into the clock tower to "take the high places" for God's glory!

Remember to pray for all men and women serving in our armed forces and for all our police, fire and emergency service personnel. Give thanks for every single one who laid their life down for the protection of their loved ones and fellow citizens, and pray for their families, many of whom are living with grief and loss and lack of closure. Pray for the many who came home injured physically or psychologically and are now unable to experience a normal life.

While we may not always agree on the decisions about wars and other military engagements, we owe our deepest respect and gratitude for the men and women who enter harm's way as loyal servants of our country. Lift them up and ask the Lord to meet them in the deepest parts of their hearts!

In His Love,
Pastor Denis
