Why Marriage Matters: Reasons to Believe Marriage in a Postmodern Society, Glen Stanton Series Introduction: Our spring series is based on John 1:14 "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." NIV The truth of Jesus - the Word of God - informs every aspect of our lives. God wants us to become like Christ - to look at the world the way He does. To become "world class" followers who understand the world and how to navigate it with wisdom. Here's the catch - God's truths are often counter-cultural and at odds with majority thinking around us, and in many cases, God's truth is much harder to live by than what we would want. That's where the grace of Jesus comes in. He loves sinners like us. He understands our condition and without flinching on His standards, He makes a way for us to fail, learn, change, and grow. It's His grace. The grace of God is His unmerited favor towards us - the nutrients of life that we need but cannot supply ourselves, He supplies. That is the beauty of Jesus, He not only sets the bar really high, He gives us all we need to get there! Today's Message: A Clash of Worldviews Text: Genesis 1:1 1. Of split minds and split lives
