Do you ever hear people say, "Well, that's just your interpretation", as if understanding the Bible were simply a matter of opinion? Paul told Timothy to accurately handle the word of truth (2 Tim 2:15, NIV). Come and learn how we accurately determine what the Biblical authors actually meant when they wrote the books of the Bible. Once we understand the original meaning, then the Holy Spirit can apply that truth to our lives in new ways. Our time together will be very practical as we work through the book, How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth, by Gordon D. Fee and Douglas Stuart. 9:00am "Elders Exposed" by John Cofskey, Committee RoomLearn what spiritual truths God is teaching your Elders. Take a 12-week journey looking at the spiritual growth and transformation of the disciples God has chosen to lead this church. You will find practical lessons you can apply and get to know these guys in an "up close and personal" way. The Commands of Christ Workshop addresses Jesus' instruction in the Great Commission: "teach them to observe all that I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:20). Workshop participants are exploring the roughly 50 commands of Christ in the New Testament, primarily following the Gospel of Matthew. Workshop preparation and discussion centers on the context of the command; examples of Jesus modeling it; what it looks like to put it into practice; and what it takes for that to become the default response of our character. If you aspire to take on the character of Christ through a process of discipleship to him, under the direction of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, this is the class for you! 10:45am "True Faced" by Dave Carson, Committee Room
