"The important moments and emotional turning points in the lives of Freud and Lewis — which gave rise to such starkly different ideas — fuel an intelligent and moving contemporary examination of the ultimate question of human existence: Does God really exist?" (PBS.org) Using the PBS series "The Question of God" Dr. Bob Keyes invites you to join him on Sunday mornings for a hard look at how C.S. Lewis and Sigmund Freud address life's biggest questions from opposite points of view.
That's just one of three Sunday morning workshops for adults this fall. (More inside - click read more)
"Connecting With God: A Study Series for Growing Disciples On Foundational Connection Points with God" Come build a strong foundation for your life with Jesus and master core truths of the Bible in this workshop led by John Cofskey at 9:00a and Kevin Robinson at 10:45.
Commands of Christ Workshopby Zeke Swift Study the instruction Jesus left to us in the Great Commission: "teach them to observe all that I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:20) Come explore with us the roughly 50 commands of Christ in the New Testament, primarily following the Gospel of Matthew. We'll look at the context of the command; examples of Jesus modeling it; what it would look like for us to put it into practice; and what it would take for that to become part of our character. What would it mean to "look to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith" as the impetus for obedience? If you aspire to learn to live your life as Jesus would if he were you, this class is for you. |
